Amina Younas practises exclusively in criminal defence at White & Jeet Criminal Defence and is committed to protecting her clients’ rights and interests at every stage of the criminal justice process. Since relocating to Alberta in 2024, she has focused her practice on defending individuals facing criminal charges across the province, providing principled and strategic advocacy in matters where liberty, reputation, and future are at stake.
She brings a strategic, disciplined, and compassionate approach to every file, guiding clients through the criminal justice process with clarity and confidence. Amina understands that criminal charges can be overwhelming and life-altering, and she is committed to ensuring her clients feel informed, supported, and vigorously represented from the earliest stages of a case through its resolution.

Amina is known for her client-centred approach to criminal defence. She takes the time to listen carefully, understand the circumstances surrounding each charge, and tailor her advocacy to the individual needs of her clients. She believes that trust, transparency, and open communication are essential to effective legal representation, particularly when clients are navigating unfamiliar and stressful legal proceedings.

Her legal background includes experience in corporate-commercial and securities law in Vancouver, British Columbia, which sharpened her analytical skills and attention to detail. This experience continues to inform her approach to assessing evidence, identifying legal issues, and developing effective defence strategies in complex criminal matters.
She believes that effective criminal defence requires empathy, clarity, and respect. Amina works closely with her clients to explain the legal process, assess risks, and outline available options, ensuring they are empowered to make informed decisions while she relentlessly advances their defence interests.
Mentorship & Community
Amina’s perspective as a criminal defence lawyer has been shaped by international academic and volunteer experiences. She earned a scholarship to study international law in Germany, where she also developed proficiency in the German language. During her undergraduate studies, she volunteered in Morocco, gaining firsthand insight into diverse cultures, values, and traditions. These experiences broadened her worldview and continue to inform her ability to connect with clients from all backgrounds.
Outside of her practice, Amina enjoys exploring the world and continually expanding her worldview. She trekked across Peru through the Andes Mountains, completing the Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu, and recently spent time in Northern Thailand hiking to remote mountain villages to learn about their way of life. She is also an avid bird lover and enjoys caring for her small parrots, often spending her free time in their company.
